Why a Predator?

First of all let’s be real clear that all of us at Hughes Aero, Corp. love to fly. We fly almost all brands and think that whatever anyone flies just unites us into the PPC community.

With that being said let’s talk about what makes the “Predator” the most desirable aircraft on the market! Starting at the front….

Goose Neck Photo

The “PREDATOR” is the only PPC that uses bearings on the goose neck to hold the front fork in the perfect position without the slop that most pilots have gotten use to.

Our front plates that hold the plane together are made of a specialty metal. Our use of space age material along with our overall design makes us lighter and stronger.

C Clamps Picture

You will notice right away that we also only use “C” clamps to put the tubing together. This creates a really strong joint that operates in compression rather than in shear like a bolted bracket.

Our “patent pending” steering is designed to ease cockpit management as well as ease the kiting of the chute, great for students. The ground steering and the throttle are an all-in-one simple control stick.

The instrument pod is ergonomically designed for pilot ease but does not obstruct the view.

The Instrumentation that comes standard is the Super EIS with altimeter and GPS interface.  This allows the pilot the information necessary to safely fly and make decisions.

Frontal Bars Picture

Every pilot and passenger will appreciate the ease of entry into the cockpit and passenger seat with our high frontal bars and no cumbersome cage to climb into.  Our machine is accessible for physically challenged pilots or passengers.

We have elected to go with the sling seat for comfort and safety. We designed our seats and four point seatbelts to act like a skydiver’s harness to insure pilot and passenger safety.

Chute Points Picture

The Predator’s attachment points were designed to maximize chute performance. It features the highest attachment point in the industry that translates into stability. We have also gone with a midrange range attachment point to provide higher chute performance.

For strength you will notice that the main pylon is made of one piece bent tubing. This adds strength to the entire frame and reduces frame flex that takes out so many props,

Custom Radiator Picture

Our custom made radiator allows the engine to run at engine manufacturer’s factory recommended temperatures.

Our custom 10 gallon aluminum fuel tank features baffles that prevent sloshing of fuel in flight and on the ground. It has very accessible easy filling capabilities and a fuel gauge that is easy to read.

Standard Equipment Pictures We also provide as standard equipment dual shocks and turf tires. These help make a bad landing even look good and, more importantly, saves parts.

Our “patent pending” engine mount uses dyna-focal technology. Engine vibration is reduced by 18 percent and there is a measured improvement in torque which translates into more thrust.

Prop Cage Picture The Predator prop cage is a dual prop guard design that will save chute lines and props. Who can afford the unnecessary cost of replacing props and chute lines or the possible damage to the crank shaft of your engine?

The Hughes Aero, Predator comes with a 68 inch prop as standard equipment.  This provides more thrust.

Clear Air Flow Picture

Looking from the back or from the front you will notice the narrow profile which allows a much cleaner air flow back to the prop translating into better performance.

A ceramic coated exhaust system comes as standard equipment.  It will reduce rust and increase engine life.

Oil tank and Radiator Overflow Pictures

We use aluminum oil tanks and radiator overflows.  They just work well and look great.

All of our tubes are plugged with Delron to insure no ovaling of the tube and adds strength.

An unobstructed view allows pilot and passenger to take it all in and shoot some great photos.

A low center of gravity makes it very difficult to roll over in a Predator, and that’s a real good thing.

Each Predator comes with a 500 ft. chute standard.  This makes it ready for you to fly when you take delivery.

Optional equipment available is a brake, fuel gage, GPS, lights system, smoke system, chute upgrade etc…  This allows the pilot to have the systems in place to make flying its most safe and enjoyable.

Custom Options Pictures We like to customize each plane for its pilot.  With custom colors and our builder (Kevin) putting his customized metal talents to work.  Each plane also becomes a specialized work of craftsmanship and art.
We offer two engine sizes to choose from. The 582 is our standard engine size and the 912 is for those who crave that extra power and faster take-offs. Two Engine Sizes Pictures

Put all of this together and you have a PPC that is safe, strong, and absolutely the best in the market.
